Aggreko officially inaugurated two 50 MW power plants, located at Ubungo and Tegeta, at a special ceremony with Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) on Monday, 24th October.
Aggreko has ensured that a Uitenhage-based electrical manufacturing company was able to maintain production despite a two-day power cut.
The contract involves providing two 50 MW diesel power plants at Ubungo and Tegeta, as well as managing the fuel supply associated with the power generation.
Aggreko proved the reliability of rental power when a customer’s own back-up generator failed and an alternative rental power supply was required urgently.
The service centre will primarily serve the shipping and manufacturing sectors around Durban, but will also bring Aggreko's turn-key rental packages to the oil and gas, mining, construction and events industries.
