Aggreko Rental Power Keeps the Lights on in Uitenhage
August 25th, 2011 - Uitenhage, South Africa:
Aggreko, the world leader in the provision of rental power and temperature control services, has
ensured that a Uitenhage-based electrical manufacturing company was
able to maintain production despite a two-day power cut.
Kromberg & Schubert, a manufacturer of automotive wiring
harnesses, was faced with the possibility of being unable to meet
pressing deadlines for major clients when the local substation lost
power for two days. With deadlines for major clients imminent, the
interruption to its production line threatened both earnings and
important business relationships.
A referral from another of Aggreko’s customers ensured that
Kromberg & Schubert were not left in the dark for long. Aggreko
was contracted to provide an emergency 500 kVA generator, which was
installed within a matter of hours.
Marius van As, Maintenance Manager, Kromberg & Schubert,
said: “The service we received from Aggreko was exceptional; their
only priority was to get us up and running again. The team were
extremely knowledgeable and flexible, even installing the package
after working hours.”
Martin Foster, Country Manager, Aggreko South Africa, commented:
“This is an excellent example of Aggreko’s ability to provide
rental power as and when it is needed. The team’s
experience in working with clients who often need a small power
package in place immediately, has ensured that we have been able to
deliver to Kromberg & Schubert exactly what they needed,
despite the tight deadline.”
